Help shape challenges by submitting needs
The challenges at this hackathon are not invented by the organisers. They are built from needs submitted by the people who actually meet them — clinicians, researchers, engineers, students.

Submitting takes an account: it is how we can write back to you, connect your needs to your application, and credit your referrals.
UNIGE, EPFL, HUG, Wyss Center, FCBG and CHUV addresses are admitted immediately.
For example
- A way to detect early relapse in bipolar disorder, for outpatients between consultations, so that hospitalisations fall.
- A way to measure sleep fragmentation at home, for adolescents starting antidepressants, so that treatment response is visible in weeks rather than months.
- A way to quantify social withdrawal, for young people in early psychosis, so that clinicians can act before a crisis.
- A way to pool wearable data across Geneva cohorts, for researchers, so that a study can start without rebuilding the pipeline each time.
What counts as a need
- One sentence. Concrete enough that someone could start on it in a weekend.
- A problem, not a solution. If you already know the answer, describe the gap it fills.
- Yours. A need you have actually run into is worth more than a plausible one.
Submitting a need is how you apply
There is no separate application form. We select participants on the quality of the need they bring — it tells us far more than a CV would. Submit as yourself and you are in the running for a place at Campus Biotech in November, and for the CHF 500 voucher.
